Functional medicine combined with functional chiropractic is the best natural way for the human body to heal from within and sustain true health by discovering and eliminating the root of the problem.

Chiropractic is based on the premise that disease is attributable, in part, to the abnormal functioning of the human nervous system. The articular spinal column covers and protects the spinal cord which receives life and health giving information to and from the brain, involving all cells, organs, and systems of the human body. Movement, sensation and orientation in space hormonal balance, genetic expression in the context of all environmental stressors, the billions of metabolic processes occurring every second, and the very expression of our life can be positively or negatively affected by the proper function or segmental dysfunction of the spinal column.

The proper function of the spinal column and the nerve system it protects can be affected by trauma, and pathologic conditions such as direct nerve injury, nerve compression, nutritional deficiencies, toxic, inflammatory, infectious, and neoplastic conditions, chemotherapy and radiation induced nerve damage, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and many other autoimmune, inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and lupus.

Functional Chiropractic includes the diagnosing and analyzing of human ailments and seeks the elimination of the abnormal functioning of the human nervous system by the adjustment or manipulation, by hand or instrument, of the articulations and adjacent tissue of the human body, particularly the spinal column, and the use as indicated of life-style changes, processes, and procedures that facilitate the adjustment or manipulation and make it more effective, along with the use of sanitary, hygienic, nutritional, and physical remedial measures for the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health, the prevention of disease, and the treatment of human ailments.

The chiropractic treatment will also not cure any of such diagnoses. Instead, it will facilitate the proper, optimal function of the brain, spinal cord, and its peripheral nerves, along with all involved metabolic processes. In turn, such functional optimization will lead, directly and indirectly, to everyone’s final goal, True Health.

There is ample research documenting the effectiveness and safety of the chiropractic treatment such as acute and/or chronic mechanical lower back pain, including lumbar disc herniation when compared to medical approach, including surgery.

Spinal manipulation was found to be safer that NSAIDs in the treatment of neck pain.

Biomechanical dysfunction of the upper part of the neck was found to cause hypertension through a sustained neurocirculatory compromise. Manipulative correction of such upper cervical segmental dysfunction resulted in a marked and sustained reduction in the patient’s blood pressure similar to the use of two-drug combination therapy.

No single technique, or newest treatment gadget can accomplish it all by itself. I practice a technique called Diversified. As the name implies, it is a combination of diverse techniques or parts of, used in combination, according to your clinical situation, your need, and ultimately your preference, as deemed necessary and safe by me. Each chiropractic visit may necessitate a different technique combination that I will explain in detail before the start of the treatment in order to educate you, and obtain your informed consent.

I do not treat a disease. I treat you as the unique individual you are. I treat the whole body system. Adjusting you adds to the overall healing even if you don’t have any musculoskeletal complaints.
